Striking matched pair of hand-sculpted Chinese Shiwan pottery Pixiu statues, finished with rich multi-color polychrome glazes. Shiwan pottery, a famous traditional ceramic art from southern China, is celebrated for expressive hand modeling and vivid glazed decoration.
Pixiu is a revered mythical feng shui guardian beast in Chinese culture, believed to attract wealth, prosperity, and ward off negative energy. This pair features bold facial details, bared teeth, ornate curly manes, decorative pendants, and intricately carved lotus-style bases. The earthy brown body contrasts beautifully with vibrant green, red, orange, and cream glazes, creating a dramatic statement piece.
Perfect as a focal decorative accent for entryways, libraries, offices, living rooms, or collector displays. A fantastic addition to Chinoiserie, Asian antique, maximalist, or traditional interior styling.
