c. 1900s/1910s; mfd. by Ithaca Sign Works for William Kovar's Grocers and Dry Goods - Howells, NE
Antique painted wood general store sign.
This piece advertises the dry goods and general grocery store owned by William Kovar (1885-1941) of Colfax County, Nebraska. It features a stylized figural woman behind the wheel of a car, a common image utilized by Ithaca Sign Works. These signs would have been posted along major highways in the same way Gas-Food-Lodging signs are used in the modern era.
