Vintage salesman sample model of a single industrial storage tank nicknamed “Big Tom.” The detailed miniature was created as a portable demonstration of a full-size storage tank intended for small industrial production.
Scaled down significantly from an average working height of approximately 20 to 25 feet, the model features a cylindrical metal tank with a domed top, lower discharge point, access ports, structural supports, and a full-height ladder with an upper platform. The ladder would have demonstrated access for sample collection, inspection, and testing.
The tank is mounted on a shaped wooden display base bearing the name “Big Tom” in red lettering. Its precise construction and polished metal finish make it an appealing example of industrial salesmanship and engineering design.
