On the Design:

Rooted in the mid-20th-century French Art Deco movement, this piece translates modern kinetic art and architectural movement into an expansive floor covering. The field centers around a completely open, unadorned square medallion in warm beige—a deliberate study in negative space that allows the eye to rest amidst the surrounding dynamism. Radiating outward from this quiet central core is a dramatic, sweeping border of dense geometric strokes that surge toward the outer edges like a stylized, avant-garde sunburst. Rendered with a lush wool pile, the radiating linework mimics painterly brushstrokes, echoing the progressive textile motifs popularized in 1930s Paris. The calculated balance between the silent central reserve and the explosive peripheral geometry creates a powerful sense of visual momentum, drawing the viewer’s eye through layers of structural relief.
