On the Design:

During the mid-to-late 20th century, Art Deco textile design transitioned from opulent 1920s ornamentation toward a streamlined architectural language grounded in structural grids, geometric rhythm, and subtle tonal contrast. This contemporary rug captures that refined spirit through an expansive field organized into distinct vertical bays. The foundation is defined by rich, multi-tonal cocoa brown and taupe wool, creating a deep, grounding canvas across the entire layout.

Drawn in crisp cream lines, long stepped meander bands cascade vertically through the field, framing alternating panels with dynamic rectilinear movement. Interspersed between these broad meander columns are narrower accent strips featuring intricate, repeating chevron, herringbone, and ladder motifs. Delicately embedded within the open rectangular compartments are small, star-like geometric rosettes, which lend a finer layer of detailed ornamentation to the overarching architectural grid.
