Large vintage Royal Doulton 6819 porcelain character jug of Little Mester Museum Piece featuring a Sheffield grinder with green cap, orange scarf and blade handle. Designed by Stanley James Taylor.1164 / 3500. Circa 1988.
The jug is modeled after the likeness of Rowland Swindon, a famous Master Grinder from Sheffield, England. The term "Little Mester" historically refers to self-employed craftspeople who rented workshop spaces in Sheffield's cutlery and tool-making industries
