This exquisite antique sculpture beautifully captures a young girl with a sweet, subtle smile, her head gently tilting downward.

Her beautifully detailed hair is styled in classical braids pulled up into a delicate ribbon bow at the crown.

The piece boasts a rich, natural patinated terracotta finish that highlights the exceptional depth and texture of the hand-pressed clay.

The reverse cavity features an incised mold/production number "967" alongside a distinct, authentic stamped fish maker's mark, identifying it as a documented period edition from a premier 19th-century French workshop specializing in historical masterworks.

The bust comes securely mounted on a custom, contoured dark wood display base that perfectly complements its classical aesthetic. A sophisticated statement piece for an entryway table, library shelf, or mantle.
