Constructed from an assemblage of welded steel rods, wire, and found metal elements, the figure emphasizes skeletal structure and movement through its open framework. The sculpture is mounted to a rectangular hardwood plinth fitted with a brass nameplate engraved "DONALD E. SMITH 1960." The work reflects the mid-century interest in direct metal sculpture, where industrial materials and visible welds became integral components of the artistic expression. See less
