A spectacular vintage Mid-Century Modern sunburst mirror with a dramatic sculptural silhouette and an exceptional profusion of radiating metal rods.
The circular central mirror is surrounded by a woven caning-style ring, from which hundreds of slender metal rods extend outward in a beautifully irregular sunburst formation. The dimensional construction gives the piece an almost explosive, sculptural quality while retaining the clean geometry associated with Mid-Century Modern and Brutalist design.
At approximately 36 inches in diameter, this is a substantial statement mirror with impressive wall presence. The combination of woven texture, warm metallic finish, and densely layered radial elements makes it equally at home in a Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, Hollywood Regency, eclectic, or maximalist interior.
The design is reminiscent of the sculptural sunburst wall works associated with the Mid-Century decorative arts tradition, including pieces made in the style of Curtis Jere, while this example remains unmarked and is offered without maker attribution.
