Early 20th-century single-sided porcelain enamel advertising sign for National Stoves & Ranges, produced under the Excelsior Stove and Manufacturing Co. of Quincy, Illinois. The sign features a bold patriotic red, white, and blue design centered by the National shield emblem beneath a large American eagle carrying a banner and flag imagery.
Advertising text promotes National Stoves & Ranges as "Guaranteed High Grade" and references an award at the 1904 World's Fair. The lower portion originally directed customers to "Ask to See Them." The sign was manufactured with a pronounced curved profile, allowing it to conform to a pillar, column, or rounded architectural surface rather than mounting flat against a wall.
Despite extensive deterioration, the surviving porcelain retains much of its original blue, red, and white graphics and remains a striking example of early American appliance advertising.
