Constructed from quarter sawn … Read more This handsome piece is an Art Deco sideboard or credenza, dating from the 1920s - 1930s. Constructed from quarter sawn oak with oak veneer top, it features charming carved details reflective of the era. The piece beautifully blends the geometric flair of the Art Deco era with a nod to the Arts and Crafts period.

With its pronounced quarter-sawn oak graining, this sideboard features bold patterns across the front panels, with Japanese inspired stylized floral or scrollwork carvings typical of the Arts and Crafts period. The outer edges of the sideboard feature heavily fluted or reeded columnar stiles that anchor the piece's sturdy, rectangular silhouette.

The piece retains its original wooden bar pulls on the top two drawers and elongated vertical wooden pulls on the central cabinet doors (which we find utterly charming!). At the top, two drawers open smoothly and provide the perfect spot for storing silverware, linens, or as a drop zone for keys and wallets if you wanted to utilize this piece in an entryway. Below, open a pair of cabinet doors to reveal a plethora of storage space, fitted with a single shelf.
