Patented self-righting floor ashtray based on Edgar H. Barbé's April 25, 1933 design (U.S. Patent No. 1,905,123). The weighted spherical base automatically returns the stand to an upright position when tipped, allowing the ashtray to roll and recover rather than fall over. This example features the original simulated woodgrain finish with bright chrome-plated wheel rims, a cylindrical handle, and a removable metal ashtray with integrated lighter holder. The inventive design combined Art Deco styling with practical engineering, making it one of the more distinctive smoking accessories of the period.
