A fantastic antique William IV inlaid walnut chess table. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1860-1880’s period.
It is beautifully made, the top has an inlaid chessboard made from walnut and birds eye maple, the other edges are walnut. This sits on a solid walnut barley twist base that rests on carved walnut tripod legs that terminate in scrolled feet. The quality is amazing, this is a very practical and fun item.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
