Their tall ladder backs, broad plank seats and substantial trestle-like bases create a strongly architectural silhouette, softened by rounded edges and the warm brown tone of the oak.

The construction is deliberately expressive, with exposed wooden pegs running along the uprights and shaped vertical supports connecting the seats to the wide floor-level rails. Two broad horizontal back slats retain the straightforward plank-like character, while the pronounced oak grain remains visible throughout.

The combination of heavy proportions, visible construction and richly textured timber gives the chairs a particularly good presence in Brutalist, rustic and Organic Modern interiors. See less
