Each chair stands on a crossed X-frame base, a form borrowed from the Savonarola tradition, joined with exposed wooden pegs and pierced iron stretchers with a hand-forged twist detail. Seats and backs are upholstered in a heavy leather, black on the face with a worn brown underlayer showing through at the edges, fixed to the frame with large domed nailheads set in a running line. The two armchairs carry the same twisted iron supports beneath the arms, echoing the stretcher below. Oak throughout is left in a natural, lightly waxed finish that shows the open grain.

The set's heavy, geometric joinery and exposed hand-forged ironwork place it firmly within the Brutalist idiom, while the X-frame silhouette nods to older Spanish and Colonial Revival seating traditions.
