It stands out as a true statement piece of African decorative art and mid-century craftsmanship.

Originating from Cameroon, West Africa, this dresser is crafted in the traditional style of the Bamileke/Bamoun Grasslands artisans.

The top, front drawers, and sides feature intricate, deeply carved relief panels depicting traditional village life—narrating vivid scenes of agriculture, hunting, and drumming ceremonies.

Elevated by four carved kneeling female figures (caryatids), traditional symbols of support and strength.

Features fully wooden construction made without metal tracks or fasteners. Each hand-fitted drawer slides smoothly on wood runners and is marked with a number corresponding to its specific slot for a custom fit.

The interior drawer bottoms bear the original stamped emblem reading "COCAM PLAFONIL," authenticating its mid-century manufacture in Cameroon. See less
