Cecily Brown, an important large-format monograph published in 2008 by Rizzoli International Publications in collaboration with Gagosian Gallery, New York.
This first-edition volume surveys the first decade of celebrated British painter Cecily Brown’s work, from her first solo exhibition in 1995 through 2008. It was published to coincide with Brown’s solo exhibition at Gagosian’s West 24th Street gallery in New York.
The extensively illustrated 264-page volume features Brown’s paintings and drawings alongside source imagery that informed her work. It includes Dore Ashton’s essay Cecily Brown en Route as well as a conversation between Cecily Brown and artist Lari Pittman.
Beautifully produced in coral-pink cloth with gilt lettering and a tipped-in color reproduction on the front cover. The book includes striking full-page color reproductions and foldout illustrated sections, making it an impressive decorative object as well as an important reference on Brown’s work.
