Early 20th-century double-sided flanged advertising sign for Jelly-Electrolyte Battery Co., Inc. of New York. Designed for mounting perpendicular to the exterior or interior wall of a service station, the sign features a bold orange, black, and cream graphic advertising the company's "J-E" storage battery. Period text promotes the battery's jelly electrolyte construction with the claims "Cannot Spill" and "Never Needs Water," accompanied by an illustration of the battery. The same advertising design appears on both sides.
