The asymmetrical body is formed from broad polished planes and deep angular facets, producing dramatic optical effects as the light passes through the thick crystal. Particularly unusual is the original matching stopper, cut into a bold elongated geometric form that perfectly complements the architecture of the vessel.

One of the most distinctive features of the design is that the decanter can be displayed in several different positions. Resting on its various polished facets changes both its silhouette and visual character, allowing it to appear upright, angled or almost horizontal.

The decanter originally retained a worn Bohemia label, which has since been removed. The precise glassworks and designer have not been identified, and the dating to approximately the 1940s–1950s remains preliminary.
