Born in Modena in 1909 and passing away in Verona in 1987, Fantuzzi was a significant 20th-century Italian painter, best known as a master of color and for his distinctive nocturnal settings. The scene features a woman turned away from the viewer, immersed in an evocative and atmospheric setting. The female figure, seen from behind, introduces a sense of mystery, silence, and poetic suspension. Her presence draws the eye into the composition and helps create a profound emotional depth. The work fully reflects Fantuzzi’s painterly sensibility, constructed through color, light, and atmosphere. Deep tones, luminous accents, and intense chromatic transitions transform the subject into a painterly vision suspended between reality, memory, and imagination. The result is an intimate and evocative composition, characteristic of Italian painting in the second half of the twentieth century. A work of striking decorative and collectible appeal, ideal for refined settings, contemporary interiors, studies, living rooms, galleries, or collections dedicated to modern Italian art.
