Antique “Mid-West Fan Lite” ceiling fixture.
This piece is a rare example of a retractable-blade fan. When powered on, the centrifugal force of the rotation causes the blades to splay outward from their stationary position once the motor reaches full speed. Attached to the brass body are five light sockets for bulbs that power on with the fan.
