Measuring 167 cm in length (180 cm overall with backplate), this piece brings architectural presence and a century of history to contemporary interiors.

This is a rare survivor from a traditional Chinese marriage bed, hand-carved with intricate flora and fauna across its openwork surface — the layered construction allows light to filter through the carving, creating a sculptural quality equally effective in both traditional and contemporary interiors. The original gilt and deep patina have softened over a century — a surface that only time could produce, impossible to replicate today. The antique panel shows authentic age wear and minor losses, which we have chosen to preserve as part of its character.

To ensure safe international shipping, the backplate is constructed from two solid wood panels joined by hidden hinges, allowing it to be folded for transit while maintaining a seamless appearance when displayed. Mounted with a 2 cm floating gap, the piece is ready to hang with pre-installed hardware.

Dimensions: Antique Panel: 167 cm L × 39 cm H. Overall Installation: 180 cm W × 45 cm H (70.9" × 17.7").
