Sculptural swivel chair from Source International’s Martini collection, designed by Gemma Bernal (b. Barcelona, 1949), a pioneering Catalan industrial designer working since 1968. Her five-decade career spans furniture, lighting and tableware, recognized with the Delta de Oro, Red Dot, and A’ Design awards, and featured in the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona.
This is her “High Four” Martini swivel chair, which has a curved, open-back shell and is upholstered in a rich teal bouclé and mounted on a polished four-star swivel base with rolling casters. A clean, modern take on the classic sculpted-shell armchair -- comfortable enough for all-day desk use, handsome enough for a meeting room or lounge.

If purchasing them new, these chairs start at $1,765 each (with a 6–8 week lead time) -- see the attached price list.
Provenance: They were purchased new by a downtown Boston office shortly before the pandemic and then were hardly ever used (as the company went remote, and then changed locations). All but one of the chairs have an upholstered seat; the last one has a leather seat. From most angles one would never notice any difference between that one and the others. There are no rips or stains on the upholstery. There is minor pilling consistent with light use and some minor discoloration. They are fully functional as is, with no need to clean or service them in any way. Base and casters are all fully functional and swivel smoothly.
