You can see in the photos of the back of the chalkboard that the chalkboard is made from heavy, real slate. It's gorgeous!

There's no maker's mark, foundry stamp, or date, so I'm not certain who this was produced by, or when. Mid-20th century was selected as approximate creation date because real slate chalkboards were used and in creation until about this time period.

Here's what I know from the previous dealer: it was pulled out of a large old building in Missouri roughly twenty years ago. What kind of building, and what the board was originally used for, is not documented..

Hangs from the two rings on the back, but make sure to anchor it heavy duty picture hangers ... this thing is heavy (about 20 lbs)!
