A richly painted fruit-and-vine border motif turns this (gorgeous) large vintage wall mirror into a decorative focal point.
Grapes, peaches, plums, leafy tendrils, and blue flowers wind across a warm golden-ochre / yellow background, framed by layered gold-toned moldings.
The hand-painted details lend the frame the character of a still-life painting, while beveled mirror glass adds depth and catches the light.
Subtle variations in the painted and antiqued finishes complement its Italian-inspired, Old World appearance.
Measuring approximately 49½ by 37 inches, this substantial rectangular mirror makes a striking statement above a mantel, dining room buffet, or entryway console. Its harvest palette works especially well with warm woods, aged brass, painted cabinetry, and traditional or Mediterranean-inspired interiors.
The mirror can be displayed horizontally or vertically, allowing the colorful border to frame a room in either orientation.
Wood frame with hand-painted fruit, floral, and vine decoration.
Gold-toned decorative moldings and beveled mirror glass.
Overall dimensions: approximately 49½ʺ × 32ʺ × 1½ʺ deep.
Maker, exact production date, and country of origin are unknown.
