The Square Guest Dining Chair from Tyler Hays's BDDW, in solid black walnut with a seat and back in dark Mulled Leather. It's square and simple, with a compact footprint that tucks in tightly. Around a dining table, at a desk, or pulled up to a kitchen banquette, it holds its own without trying to.
Black walnut and dark leather make a low-contrast, rich pairing that suits most palettes. The leather is vegetable-tanned and made to age, and it will deepen and develop patina with use. BDDW calls these "living" finishes, meant to change and gain character over time. The frame is solid hardwood, American-made, and built as heirloom furniture.
