The centerpiece is the Versailles King Bed by Philippe Langdon, identified by original documentation accompanying the piece. That documentation states that the bed alone originally retailed for over $10,000.

Designed on a monumental scale, the California King bed features a dramatic 78-inch-high headboard with a deeply button-tufted upholstered center panel framed by richly finished architectural woodwork. Four substantial carved posts with sculptural finials, elaborate scroll and relief detailing, substantial side rails, and an imposing paneled footboard give the bed exceptional presence.

The bed is accompanied by two oversized coordinating bedside chests, each measuring an impressive 40 inches wide. The chests retain Pulaski Home Furnishings labels and provide considerably more storage than a conventional nightstand. Each features a wide upper drawer with a lined interior and a double-door lower cabinet with interior shelving. Carved architectural details, decorative hardware, contrasting inset panels, and the rich dark wood finish complement the Versailles bed beautifully.

The ensemble has a distinctly European Traditional / Renaissance Revival / Old World aesthetic and is particularly well suited to a large primary bedroom where its scale and architectural detailing can be fully appreciated.
