The painting … Read more This late-19th-century antique Chinese sideboard/desk is a unique statement piece. Entire piece is made with traditional Chinese joinery. The painting on the three panels demonstrates the artisan’s commanding skill in shui-mo, also loosely called watercolor or brush painting. The three red square frames transform into traditional Chinese mountain-and-water painting. Clear lacquer is applied to protect the painting and wood. This is a grain bin with three openings on the top. The custom glass top creates a smooth surface for work and writing. Back panels are cut out to create a desk with extra storage. Add a barstool, and you’ve got the perfect desk! I used mine as the reception area of my personal training studio. See less
