Traditional wingback armchair and coordinating ottoman upholstered in rich oxblood-red leather. The chair features a tall, deeply button-tufted back framed by prominent wings, rolled arms, a loose seat cushion, and brass-tone nailhead trim. Dark-stained wooden legs include cabriole-form front supports and straight, slightly raked rear legs. The matching ottoman repeats the tufted leather upholstery, nailhead trim, and carved cabriole legs, creating a cohesive and substantial seating set.
The maker is unidentified; wingback chairs developed from earlier high-backed fireside seating and remained enduring symbols of comfort and formality throughout the early 20th century.

Areas of concentrated wear and surface loss are visible along the piping, rear upholstery, arms, and seat surround. A stitched leather repair is present beneath the removable cushion, with additional minor tears and repaired areas as photographed. Nailheads show age-related patina, and the wooden legs exhibit scratches and finish wear. The ottoman has a visible indentation to its upholstered surface. less
