A high-quality set of four German chairs from around 1930, crafted from solid mahogany with upholstered seats and backs.
The chairs are distinguished by their unusually generous proportions and a clear, yet elegant design. Particularly characteristic are the wide, gently curved backs with inset upholstery and the robustly dimensioned seats.
The frames are made of high-quality mahogany. The front legs are straight, while the rear legs curve gracefully downwards, structurally supporting the backrest. This combination of a functional basic form and softly sculpted details is typical of high-quality German Modernist furniture from the late 1920s and 1930s.
The seats and backs are upholstered in a gold-colored, geometrically patterned fabric and finished with decorative upholstery tacks. The upholstery appears to be of very high quality and could be older or even original; however, a definitive dating of the fabric is not possible.
Due to their wide seats, weight and solid construction, the chairs convey a decidedly high-quality and prestigious impression.
