The barn fills most of the canvas and is painted almost entirely in whites and pale grays, its board-and-batten wall built from close vertical strokes so the surface reads as weathered wood rather than a flat white plane. The gambrel roof breaks twice on its way down and carries a small cupola at the ridge. A wide sliding door sits at the center with a long track above it, and two small black windows flank it, each divided into four panes. Below the barn the ground is a broad band of deep green; above it the sky is a soft blue with pale clouds brushed across it. The paint continues around the sides of the canvas.
