A large, single-door Art Deco wardrobe dating from around 1930/35. The wardrobe exhibits the typical interwar style of combining a clear, monumental form with softly rounded, vertically emphasized contours and a decoratively designed veneered front.
The vividly grained, mirror-symmetrical front is particularly striking. The veneer was deliberately applied to create a highly detailed, almost ornamental pattern across the entire height of the wardrobe. The central door is framed by boldly rounded, partially cross-veneered profiles. Wide, slightly projecting panels on the sides give the wardrobe a cohesive and balanced appearance despite its considerable size.
A narrow, ornamentally designed frieze runs across the front at the level of the door hardware. The unusual horn handle/fitting is a beautiful original detail and underscores the handcrafted character of the piece.
