This Sensorette table lamp was manufactured in the 1970s by the German company Insta GmbH. The design is inspired by the Arteluce 540, designed by Gino Sarfatti in 1968, and fits beautifully within the experimental Space Age design of this period. The transparent base is made from a single piece of thick acrylic glass bent into a U shape. Clamped between these two sections is the chrome-plated spherical spotlight, which can be easily rotated and tilted. Thanks to the clear acrylic glass, the sphere appears to hang almost freely within the structure. The combination of transparent acrylic glass and mirrored chrome gives the lamp a distinct 1970s character. Despite its compact size, it is a design that immediately stands out on a sideboard, desk, or side table. The lamp is in good vintage condition with signs of use on the acrylic glass. There is a screw hole in the underside that was presumably added later. The lamp may have been mounted to a wall in the past. We have carefully cleaned the lamp, treated the chrome, and fully checked the mechanics. The lamp is ready for immediate use. Height 22 cm Width 11.5 cm Depth 12 cm
