This striking Art Deco sculpture of two panthers was created by M. Leducq in 1930. The composition presents two panthers in a sculptural arrangement characteristic of the decorative animal sculpture of the Art Deco period.
The sculpture is executed in Art Metal with a black patina. It stands on a refined black and beige marble base with an onyx inlay. The combination of dark patinated metal, contrasting marble and onyx creates a strong decorative presence.
The work is signed “M. Leducq”. It is of French origin and dates from 1930.
The sculpture is in very good condition.
Information on the artist is included in Animals in Bronze by Christopher Payne, published by Antique Collectors Club. This piece has an attribution mark,
