Its form is defined by a robust oak structure, wide armrests, and clearly visible joinery. Its bold, almost architectural silhouette and minimal ornamentation make it a prime example of Scandinavian Brutalism, where structure and material are integral to the overall form.

The substantial weight of the wooden frame is balanced by soft, deep-tufted cushions upholstered in dark brown natural leather. The contrast between the stark geometry of the oak frame and the soft upholstery gives the sofa a striking character. with its visible joinery, thick structural elements, and clean lines, the Bonanza fits seamlessly into contemporary, minimalist interiors.

The oak frame has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The work was carried out by a skilled carpenter with over 20 years of experience. The leather upholstery has been lightly refreshed, though visible signs of age and use remain, adding to its unique character.

Esko Pajamies (1931–1990) was a Finnish designer and interior architect. He established his own design studio in 1961, and his most renowned works were created in collaboration with Asko. The Bonanza collection was one of his major projects and was showcased at the Cologne furniture fair in 1968. In 1979, Pajamies received the Finnish State Prize for Design.

Asko is one of the most important Finnish furniture manufacturers of the 20th century. Founded in 1918, the company played a pivotal role in the development of post-war Finnish design by collaborating with numerous designers and bringing their work into large-scale production.
