These highly expressive chairs are defined by their bold, architectural construction and wonderfully organic character. Substantial solid oak legs are joined by an intricate arrangement of naturally curved stretchers, while the elongated armrests and individually shaped back slats create a strong and unmistakable silhouette. The combination of rustic craftsmanship and modernist proportions gives these chairs an exceptional presence. Viewed from every angle, the exposed construction becomes an integral part of the design, making them particularly attractive as freestanding statement pieces. The oak has acquired a rich, warm patina over decades of use, with beautiful variations in grain, tone and texture. We have deliberately preserved this character, which contributes greatly to the authenticity and individuality of the pieces. A wonderful example of French mid-century artisanal furniture, perfectly suited to both sophisticated contemporary interiors and more eclectic or wabi-sabi inspired settings. Offered as a pair. Two pairs (four chairs) are currently available. The listed price is for one pair of two armchairs. Dimensions per chair: Width: 68 cm / 26.77 in Depth: 60 cm / 23.62 in Height: 83 cm / 32.68 in Seat height: 47 cm / 18.50 in Condition: Good original vintage condition with an attractive patina and age-related traces of use consistent with their age.
