The tabletop is composed of parquetry oak panels, each section framed to create a graphic, geometric surface, with rounded corners softening the rectangular form and a substantial edge moulding giving the top real presence. The base is built on sturdy tapered legs, joined by carved cross-stretchers with a faceted, star-like medallion at the center of each, a signature detail of the maker’s craftsmanship that gives the table a distinctive presence. The legs taper to a rounded foot, a lighter, almost playful touch beneath the solid, architectural top above. The oak wood has been finished with a deep, warm stain.

The table was originally used as a dining table, comfortably seating six with room for up to eight if needed. It works equally well as a library or work table, or as a striking desk for a study

The table is in good, fully original condition, with minor traces of wear consistent with its age and previous use. Some minor stains and scratches, but no major flaws that detract from its character or usability. The table was acquired directly from the home of its first owner in Lille, who took excellent care of it over the decades. It has not been altered or restored since.
