A pair of large table lamps by Belgian designer Willy Daro, dating from the 1970s.
The tall rectangular bases are crafted from brass and divided into vertical panels, giving the lamps a strong architectural character. The warm tones and natural patina add beautiful depth to the design.
Willy Daro worked in Brussels and became known for his distinctive lighting during the 1960s and 1970s. While many of his designs can be wonderfully extravagant, these lamps show a quieter side of his work. They are unmistakably 1970s, yet their simple lines keep them from feeling too heavy.
Both lamps carry the Willy Daro maker’s mark. This piece has an attribution mark,
