A white barn stands square to the viewer and fills most of the canvas, its gambrel roof edged in a crisp white line and rising to a peak with a small louvred vent set below it. The walls are built from vertical boards in whites and pale greys, the brushwork left visible as fine streaks running down each board. A low grey wall crosses the front of the building, holding two small dark-paned windows with a dark opening between them. Behind, the sky is a soft grey-lavender. Along the bottom the ground is a broad band of warm rust brown that deepens toward the edges.

The painting measures 48 inches high by 36 inches wide. It is unframed, but ready to hang. Signed by the artist, lower left.
