A red barn stands square to the viewer against a pale grey-lavender sky. The upper wall and roof are painted in reds that shift from bright to deep, with the vertical boarding drawn in fine dark lines and a small dark diamond vent set at the peak. Across the base of the building a cream block holds a single dark window on the left, a red door stands at the center, and a dark open bay is cut into the right-hand side. Below, the ground moves from warm ochre through olive to a dark brown band at the bottom edge, blended rather than laid down flat.

The painting measures 48 inches high by 36 inches wide. It is unframed, but ready to hang. Signed by the artist, lower left.
