A white clapboard barn with a dark open doorway and a grey gable roof stands just right of center on the horizon, with a low dark tree line running behind it. The sky above is graded pink, deepest at the top and paling toward the horizon. Below the horizon the ground is built from flat geometric bands and wedges: green fields in several values, then a broad pale grey-beige band with a lighter wedge running up toward the barn, then bands of dusty rose and red-brown, and a dark olive band across the bottom. Small flecks of gold sit along some of the seams between bands. The weave of the canvas is visible through the paint.

The painting measures 24 inches high by 36 inches wide. It is unframed, but ready to hang. Signed by the artist, lower left.
