Each features a substantial circular stepped base with gadrooned and beaded detailing, a tall tapered standard, and a removable scrolling two-arm branch surrounding the central candle socket.

The branch assemblies lift out, allowing the pieces to also be used as a pair of tall single-light candlesticks.

Both retain matching, heavily worn period marks to the undersides consisting of a distinctive crowned device above a series of individual punches. The construction, proportions, decorative details and marks correspond to a documented pair of George III Old Sheffield Plate candelabra of virtually identical dimensions.

Beautiful substantial scale at approximately 19 inches high and 17 inches wide when assembled. Each weighs approximately 4 lb 14 oz.

Very good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, scratches, tarnish and localized silver-plate loss exposing the warm copper beneath, particularly around candle sockets and areas where the removable branches make contact. Some candle wax residue remains. The six original removable candle nozzles are no longer present. Please review photographs closely for condition.

A handsome and highly decorative pair for a dining table, mantel, console or sideboard.
