From the living estate of Arizona based brutalist sculpture artist John Gleason, capturing the vibrant energy and theatrical romance of the 1920s flapper era, this striking Art Deco sculpture depicts a fluidly posed dancer. Styled in the unmistakable manner of period masters like Josef Lorenzl and Stefan Dakon, the figure wears an ornate, theatrical costume finished with original multi-toned cold-painted accents.
The spelter white-metal statue stands beautifully balanced upon a heavy, beautifully figured Brazilian green onyx base, showing rich natural cream, pale sage, and rust-toned banding. The underside reveals authentic period-accurate dual-bolt threaded mounting hardware, confirming its early 20th-century craftsmanship. A beautiful accent piece perfect for adding classic Art Deco glamour to a vanity, mantle, or library shelving.
