A rare complete set of six stackable hedgehogs in patinated brass, produced by Silex in France in the 1950s–60s, based on the iconic design by Walter Bosse.
Together, the six pieces form a sculptural and graphic animal composition, characteristic of the famous nesting hedgehog principle developed by Walter Bosse. Each piece fits inside the next, transforming the functional object into a true miniature sculpture.
The stylized silhouette of the hedgehogs, their interlocking volumes, and their original patina give the set a particularly elegant presence. Each piece can be used individually as a small ashtray or trinket dish, but it is the presence of all six pieces together that truly showcases the design's decorative power.

The model is associated with the world of Austrian design by Walter Bosse. This version was produced by Silex in France, which distinguishes it from the Austrian productions of Hertha Baller.
The presence of the six hedgehogs is particularly interesting: together, they allow the model to be fully formed, while each element retains its sculptural character when displayed separately.
with its instantly recognizable animal design, nested construction, and warm patina, this set is a particularly decorative and sought-after piece of Mid-Century design.
