This is … Read more This exceptional Art Nouveau bronze sculpture by Georges Récipon depicts a nude female figure reclining on a horseshoe. This is the large version of the model and dates from 1896.
The sculpture is executed in gilt and patinated bronze and was cast by the renowned Susse Frères foundry in France. The work is signed “Récipon”.
An inscription records that the sculpture was presented as a gift to Charlotte Gaston on March 30, 1898. This inscription adds a documented historical element to the object.
