Sven Middelboe “Verona” Pendant for Nordisk Solar, Denmark, c. 1960s
An iconic example of Danish modern lighting, the Verona pendant was designed by Sven Middelboe for Nordisk Solar and is distinguished by its elegant system of concentric metal shades.
The layered construction completely shields the light source from direct view while directing illumination both downward and outward, producing the soft, glare-free light that became a hallmark of Scandinavian lighting design.
This example retains its original Verona 41082 manufacturer label, confirming the model designation and Nordisk Solar production.
Finished in white, the pendant has a strong architectural presence while remaining visually light. Its stacked, floating shades create a sculptural profile from every angle and make the fixture particularly effective above a dining table, kitchen island, reading area, or entryway.
