A vintage Turkish copper covered urn with a rounded pedestal form, tall finial lid, and hand-painted decoration throughout. Pierced openwork panels alternate with blue floral medallions, while green, red, and black bands frame the body and lid with dense hand-finished ornament.
The removable lid opens to a copper interior, and the carved openwork allows light to pass through the vessel in an especially striking way. It works well as a decorative tabletop object for a console, desk, shelf, or boutique display, and can also be styled with a small battery-operated light placed inside to emphasize the pierced detailing.
Hand engraving, pierced carving, and painted surface work cover nearly the entire exterior. The shaped copper panels and openwork sections give the vessel a strongly sculptural form, while the painted floral accents add color and detail across the surface.
