It hosted many prominent celebrities, musicians, and politicians throughout the jazz and big band eras. The shield crest on the front of the pot represents the official emblem used by the hotel.

Insulated Handle: The specific geometry of the heavy handle aligns perfectly with the 1927 patent stamped on the bottom, designed specifically to dissipate heat so hotel staff and guests wouldn't burn their hands.
Classic Silhouette: This style was widely favored by elite 20th-century hotels and railroad dining cars for its stability and balance when pouring.
Historical Context: During the 1920s through the 1950s, the Edgewater Beach Hotel was the height of Chicago luxury. When a guest ordered tea service at the famous Beachwalk boardwalk or in the Marine Dining Room, the waitstaff would bring out individual pots like this one, proudly stamped with the hotel's shield logo.
