The field is a deep indigo/petrol blue, framed by a wide, vivid magenta-fuchsia border with a slender inner stripe of matching blue — a classic Nichols-era Chinese Deco color combination.
An asymmetric, open-field composition typical of Art Deco rugs, with flowering branches, leafy vines, and scattered blossoms in dusty rose, lavender, cream, and coral drifting across the open indigo ground rather than filling it densely.A prominent still-life vignette in the lower right: a lavender/plum porcelain vase with gilt ring handles, set on a carved white stand, spilling chrysanthemums and bamboo fronds, paired with a smaller flowering pot beside it.
A decorative hanging tassel/pendant ornament (resembling a Chinese lantern or jade pendant cluster) in the upper left, with dangling silk-tassel motifs in coral and jade green.
