A dramatic statement pendant by Navajo artist Roie Jaque, combining a large fossil megalodon tooth with five substantial turquoise cabochons set in sterling silver. The pendant incorporates a fossil megalodon tooth dating approximately 3.6–23 million years.
The turquoise displays vivid blue-green color with natural matrix, including areas of metallic-looking matrix that give each stone a highly individual character. Each cabochon is framed in a traditional twisted-wire and serrated bezel setting, creating a strong contrast against the ancient, naturally weathered surface of the fossil tooth.
The silverwork follows the upper edge of the tooth, allowing the fossil itself to remain the dominant sculptural element. Suspended from a long brown leather cord, the piece has the scale and presence of wearable art.
Signed “ROIE JAQUE STERLING” beneath the center stone.
The combination of natural turquoise, hand-worked sterling silver, and an ancient megalodon fossil makes this a particularly unusual example of contemporary Navajo jewelry and a distinctive collector's showpiece.
